More Detailed Rules ?
The Texas Lounge
This post is not the FAQ. It contains a number of important house
rules and remarks about the nature of how this Discussion Group functions.
The following list is not complete.
Updated versions of these rules will be posted regularly and archived
in the "important files" section of the Lounge. You are responsible for
keeping informed of any changes.
1. The Texas Lounge is designed for the exchange of knowledge about
seduction, flirting and creating attraction. This subject can be applied
to relationships and business issues, although attention is primarily
given to the former.
2. This forum is not intended as an alternative for the Usenet Group
"Alt.Seduction.Fast" or for "moderated.Alt.Seduction.Fast" on
http://www.fastseduction.com. It is complementary to this discussion
group.
3. The goal of the Texas Lounge is to share practical knowledge
acquired in the field. By exchanging knowledge with one another, Lounge
members personal skills can improve very quickly.
4. The posting of "Field Reports" and "Lay Reports" is explicitly
permitted. Be careful that there are experiences in your story that will be
educational for the other members. Ask yourself, "Can I and the other
Lounge members learn something from the experiences in my story?" If
the answer is yes, post the story!
5. The Texas Lounge does not represent a certain style. Speed
Seduction, Mystery Method, Badboy Method, Your Own Method (if it is
successful), Neuro Linguistic Programming, etc. are all open for discussion.
6. The Texas Lounge is neutral. Members of all disciplines and schools
of learning are welcome. Take into account that other members have
another preference for learning style than you do. Stylistic differences
are neither good nor bad. If each of you learn from eachother's
strongest sides, your results will improve.
7. Participation. In order to maintain a positive atmosphere, it is
important that all members are active in the field and that they
regularly share their knowledge and experiences with one another.
Members are required to regularly meet one another in the field. You
can learn much more by practicing with others in the field than with a
lifetime of exchanging posts on the Lounge. The Moderators will
regularly examine the membership list and remove those members who do not post
and who rarely meet up with other members.
8. The following guidelines are designed to keep the signal to noise
ratio as high as possible:
i. Keep your posts as short as possible. If your story is succint,
others will want to react more quickly. Long, self-indulgent
considerations related to your field experiences are only interesting to the
story's writer.
ii. If you react to a post, copy only the elements of that post that
are relevant for your own reaction. Throw the rest away.
iii. Only give advice to others on the basis of your own experiences.
iv. If you can't stop yourself from sharing "second hand" experiences
-- for example, something that someone like TylerDurden, Badboy or
Mystery has advised, report it in your reaction and refer to the relevant
article.
v. If you want to post an article that originally appeared in another
discussion group ("cross post") make sure that you have permission from
the original author if it comes from a closed group or make sure that
the material is openly available in the public domain if it comes from
an open group.
vi. Do not make a post consisting primarily of comments such as "me
too," "yes" and "excellent," etc. This type of post is not interesting
for the group. If you cannot stop yourself from making this kind of a
remark, send it directly to the original poster and avoid broadcasting it
to the Lounge.
vii. Before you post, do a search in the appropriate forum for your
question. You may find the solution in a previous discussion, or there
might already be several good replies on the same subject.
If you post a simple question that's plainly answered elsewhere in this
forum, you' might get a short answer to "read the FAQ." If you make an
effort to help yourself first by consulting the information available,
other Lounge members will be more enthusiastic about helping you solve
your problem. Lounge members have spent their time putting together
additional material and links to better help you. Make use of them.
viii. Do not be rude with those who are trying to help you. Be
patient, open-minded and disciplined. Posting another message within a short
interval, or whining that "nobody wants to help me" will not improve
your results. Everyone loses their cool at one time or another when
they're frustrated, but if it happens enough, you'll find that most people
won't even want to try to help you.
9. Commercial activities and spam on the Lounge are strictly FORBIDDEN.
The Texas Lounge is non profit. We believe that all necessary
knowledge should be available for free. If an announcement is placed for a
"workshop" or "seminar," it will only be done in principle if it is a
special offer made available to Lounge members. Only Lounge Moderators are
allowed to place announcements of this kind.
10. Privacy. It is forbidden to post the real name of another Lounge
member. Ditto for phone numbers, home addresses and other personal
information about other members. Any individual who would elect to post his
own personal information in the Lounge, does this at his or her own
risk. Respect the privacy of other people about whom you are posting. If
your girl friend is named "Mabel," change her name into something else
like, for example, "pretty librarian." Be creative.
It is similarly forbidden to reveal someone's Lounge name to any person
outside of the Lounge, or to indicate that you know that someone
belongs to the Lounge. If asked by any person outside of the Lounge how you
know a fellow Lounge member, "mutual acquaintances" is an acceptable
answer.
All material posted to the Lounge is private and personal. You own
your own words. Each person is responsible for the material he or she
posts, and cannot share, distribute, cross post or otherwise re-use any of
the information he finds here without the explicit permission of the
original writer or copyright holder.
Posting material to the Lounge implies that you have read and agreed to
all the Lounge terms of use, and that you consent to the
re-distribution of your material to the Lounge and its members in order to meet the
Lounge's goals.
11. Only Lounge Moderators are permitted to upload documents to the
"files" section of the Lounge or to post links in the "links" section of
the Lounge. If you would like to post something that has not yet been
made available, write to one of the Moderators. Posting material that
is protected by copyright is only allowed if you have received
permission from the copyright holder. Each poster is individually responsible
for observing copyright regulations.
12. Whoever disregards or violates these house rules will be
permanently removed from the Lounge, in principle without prior warning or
exception. Follow the rules carefully.
And now the most important message: Welcome to the Texas Lounge! It is
good that you want to become a member. We hope that your contributions
will be inspiring to other members and that their contributions will be
inspiring to you.
